The cross in the atrio of the church of the Pure Conception (la Purisima Concepción) is now under a protective roof. It is an excellent example of early 16th century tequitqui design which shows the various items used in the crucifixion: the veil of Veronica, the wounds of Christ, the crown of thorns, etc., in a mixture of European and indigenous techniques and styles.
