The small church of Saint Martin (San Martín) stands in the midst of the ancient city of Huamelulpan with the major archaeological complexes behind and above it. The church and Mixtec artifacts, including skulls and a stone jaguar pelt are encrusted in the sidewalls of the church. The 18th century façade fronts the original 16th century construction.
